M:180 Diving Deeper

Well it's that time of year again... what time you ask? Christmas! The Christmas season is everywhere... Whether you turn on the TV, Walk through the mall, Or visit a local Starbucks (had to throw that in) you see Christmas everywhere on Display! And i'm cool with that. This is my favorite time of year. All though the true sigificance can often be lost in all the marketing, we know that Christmas is really about the birth of our Lord Jesus and this leads us to celebrate!
This past Sunday at Deeper, we talked about grace and studied how grace doesn't JUST bring forgiveness, but that it is what EMPOWERS us as Christians to live Godly lives (Titus 2:11-14). I know I am constantly challenged by this truth and i hope the same rings true for you! This week at Deeper we are going to be looking over "The Christmas Story." I want us to put on a different set of lenses and look at the whole Christmas event through a different set of eyes. We will look at the life of Mary, a teenage girl, who found Favor with God and was thus used by God to reveal His Glory to the world! Luke 1:26 will be our bible passage! In the Protestant church we don't talk about Mary a whole lot, but i think this will be a good study for us and will definately challenge how we view the holidays and what they mean for us! I'm looking forward to this week!
This week as well at M:180 Deeper we have the privilege of hosting a Christmas banquet here at the church. I've already spoken with you about this and if you can commit please let me, Pastor Jason, the interns, Nicole, etc... know ASAP! This will begin at 5pm on Saturday at the church, until about 9-10ish.. look for an email by Thursday! So yeah, things are getting busy im sure for all of you and Christmas is on the horizon! I'm looking forward to our weeks together before christmas break! I hope everyone is having a great week and here's the M:180 Deeper schedule for December in case you forget:

M:180 will not run on Sunday Dec.24 and Dec.31 for obvious reasons... we will resume in January!

Okay, Then again, Maybe Not! For those of you who are wondering who in the world are the Ducktales??? The Ducktales show, was a cartoon that was on TV while i was growing up! It was actually a great cartoon... It was based on three ducks (huey, luey and dewey) and their snobby uncle Scrooge McDuck! Scrooge was one of those grumpy old guys, who LOVED his money... It was a treasure to Him and was very COSTLY! Why are we reading about Ducktales you ask? Well, because i think everyone has a little of what Uncle Scrooge has in them... We all have things that we treasure, things that are valuable to us and that we find very Costly and meaningful! Things that we treat and treasure with the upmost of respect... but i must ask the question, do we have our priorities right? Are the things that we treasure and protect really the REAL IMPORTANT things that we need to look after with such care???
This week at M:180 DEEPER, we are going to take one last look at the gift of grace! We are going to examine three different angle's on it, that if taken seriously can and will change your life forever... Grace is a gift of God (Eph.2:8-9), we have already learned about it, but this week we are going to look at a more PRACTICAL side of this gift and what it TRULY means for the Believer!!!
So, i hope you all are having a great week... I'm busy, but having fun... I have to preach on Wednesday and work a little more at Scott Parable's this week...but things are good and i'm looking forward to youth on Friday and DEEPER on Sunday, as i hope you all are!
